I am a little behind and just caught up on this fine episode. I agree the old hollywood noir sound pervades this whole album. One particular motif that jumped out at me is what I believe to be a direct reference to the the theme song of You Only Live Twice in Terrence Loves You. I hear it in first descending vocal notes of Terrence. The motif is then repeated a few times through out the song. I’m pretty sure it’s intentional. If you are going to quote anyone, you can do a lot worse than John Barry and Nancy Sinatra Thoughts?
