I’ve only just caught up with this episode of TFT and I found the Tweens (sorry, just Tweens) a real grower. The praising and burying of surf rock aesthetic and messy noises were compelling. Like Perfect Pussy, it’s a shame there aren’t easily found lyrics to go with the music.
The name-checking of bands like The Breeders has me excited about the TFT perspective on the bands of the 90’s.
I’m also excited to get up to the 90s… we’ll return to our historical analysis sometime over the summer, so we’ll probably march through the rest of the 70s and at least part of the 80s, but our pace will depend on how much we find that we like along the way.
I’m probably seeing Tweens in concert in two weeks so if I pick up the vinyl or cassette and there are lyrics included, I’ll take pictures and circulate them via the Waffles (or probably just the various TFT social media handles).
